How to Properly Measure Your Foot?
What Do You Need for Measuring?
- Tailor's measuring tape
- Ruler
- Pencil
- A4-size sheet of paper
Measuring Foot Length in mm (Mondopoint)
-
Place your foot on the sheet of paper. The paper should be placed on a flat and hard surface. The heel of your foot and the edge of the paper must touch a solid wall (door, frame, wall, etc.).
-
Bend your knee deeply. This will allow your foot to expand.
Use the ruler to draw a perpendicular line in front of your big toe and mark a line on the paper. Repeat the same process with your other foot.
-
Measure the length of your footprint, i.e., from the end of the heel (a) to the longest point of your toes (b). That is, from the wall to the line in front of the big toe.
-
Always measure both feet, as one foot is sometimes larger than the other.
Measuring Foot Width (Circumference) in mm
-
Loop the tailor's measuring tape under your foot at the point where the toes end – across the ball of your foot.
-
Wrap the tape around your foot and connect it on the top of your instep. Write down the measured circumference.
Add to the Measured Longer Foot Length:
- For fully grown feet: Add 5-6 mm to get the correct figure skating boot size.
- For children: Add 6-10 mm MAX! Contact us for advice.
The width of the foot is, of course, also an important factor.
