How to properly lace and tighten EDEA figure skates?
Lacing EDEA Skates Properly
🔴 EDEA skates must be laced from the TOP DOWN!!!
-
Do not overtighten the laces at the toe area. Your toes should be able to move inside the boot.
-
Tighten the laces more as you go towards the ankle, especially the last 2-3 eyelets. This ensures a correct and secure foot position inside the skate.
-
Tighten the first hook firmly. Laces should be looped from the top down. Towards the top part of the boot, tighten the laces moderately to allow knee movement. Avoid over-tightening, as this prevents proper knee flexion (essential for smooth skating movements).
⚠️ If you lace the skates too tightly around the shin and ankle, you won’t be able to bend your knees properly—which is crucial for figure skating technique. You will move stiffly, like a robot. This also increases the risk of injury and damage to the skates (excess pressure on the ankle).
